SELMA, Ala. - The Florida A&M Baseball team scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to earn their first win of the season in a 3-0 decision over Concordia College Thursday afternoon at Bloch Park.
FAMU (1-3) collected eight hits, while Concordia College (2-7) tallied five safeties on the afternoon.
Tim Jones (1-0) got the win for FAMU, giving five hits and striking out 10 in nine innings of work, while Jahmel Terry (1-1) took the loss for Concordia, giving up seven hits in eight and two-thirds innings of work.
In the top of the ninth, Corey McFadden's RBI double got the Rattler rally going, scoring Darryl Evans, who had reached on a single for a 1-0 score.
McFadden later scored to make it 2-0, on a Jared Jeffries single, before an Adam Gordon single scored Jeffries for the 3-0 final.
WHAT'S NEXT: The Rattlers will return to action on Saturday in their home opener against Savannah State in the game one of a two-game series at Moore-Kittles Field beginning at 1 p.m.
