MEAC ANNOUNCES TOURNAMENT PARINGS FRIDAY MORNING



Coach Eugene Harris hopes to lead FAMU to its' third MEAC title in five years

RALEIGH, N.C. - Friday morning, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference announced the pairings for the next week's Basketball Championship Tournament here at the RBC Center.

On the women's side, the ninth seeded Florida A&M Lady Rattlers (13-16) will begin their quest for the 2008 MEAC Title Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. against eighth seeded Howard University with the winner to face number one-seed North Carolina A&T on Wednesday, at 10 a.m.

Overall, the FAMU Women won league titles in 1995 and 1999

On the men's side, the sixth-seeded Rattlers (14-16) have won their last five games in a row, to garner a sixth-seed.

FAMU, will face eleventh-seeded the University of Maryland Eastern Shore on Wednesday at 3 p.m., with the winner to face number three-seeded Norfolk State Thursday at 6 p.m.

The Rattlers are the defending MEAC Tournament Champions and have won a total of four conference championships (1991, 1999, 2004. 2007)
