LEXINGTON, Ky. - Florida A&M's Artiom Podgainii and Michael Moore advanced in singles action at the Wilson/ITA Southeast Indoors Regionals at the University of Kentucky.
Podgainii advanced to Friday evening's semifinal round, after an opening round win over Maximillen Genuini of Mississippi State, 6-4, 7-5 (5) and a 6-4, 6-3 win over Vanderbilt's Scott Lieberman in the quarters.
Moore won his opening round singles match over LSU's John Tragardh, 6-4, 7-6, and was slated to duel Matt LeBoucher of Southeastern Louisiana in the quarterfinals Friday morning.
In other singles action, FAMU's Clifford Malivert dropped a 6-4, 6-4 decision to Kentucky's Alberto Gonzales, while Maurice Wamukowa fell in the opening round, 6-3, 6-2 to Tennessee's William Lang.
Doubles play was slated to begin Friday evening, with Moore and Wamukowa making up one combo for FAMU, with Podgainii and Malivert comprising the second duo.
