April 19, 2007 RALEIGH, N.C. - The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference announced its' 2007 tennis honors at a pre-championship banquet here Thursday night and Florida A&M's Rochelle "Nikki" Goldthreate was named Women's Coach of the Year.
A Nashville, Tennessee native, who is in her second year at her alma mater as head coach, Goldthreate directed her team to a 7-3 MEAC record, 8-9 overall coming into this weekend's league championships.
Goldthreate's Lady Rattlers topped last season's 3-7 conference regular season finish and entered this year's tournament three positions higher than last year's seventh seed finish.
