April 21, 2007 RALEIGH, N.C. - The Florida A&M Women's Tennis team had its' Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference title hopes dashed by defending champion South Carolina State here Saturday morning, 4-0, in the 2007 MEAC Men's Tennis Championships at the Millbrook Tennis Center.
The Lady Bulldogs will vie for their third consecutive title and fourth overall Sunday when they face No. 2 seed Bethune-Cookman in a repeat of last year's final, at 9:00 a.m.
The Lady Pirates of Hampton defeated Florida A&M, 4-3 in the third place consolation match on for the women Saturday afternoon.
FAMU won their opening round match in Friday's quarterfinals, ousting fifth-seeded Howard University, 4-2.
